Media Law
Whether it’s the press, broadcasting, film, social media or online platforms – anyone who creates, distributes or reports on content via third parties navigates the complex terrain between freedom of expression, personality rights, copyright and regulatory requirements. Media Law provides the legal framework for this, and we help you navigate it safely.
We advise on the creation of copyright-protected works, also in combination with issues relating to personal rights, Trademark and Design Law, and provide legal protection for the subsequent exploitation processes, including distribution via various media. This includes advising and representing clients in the negotiation of contracts, the granting of rights of use, including obtaining consents.
If rights are infringed or if there is a corresponding allegation, we enforce or defend claims both in and out of court. In addition to advising and representing clients in Media Law warning proceedings, our range of services also includes representation in court, e.g. in summary proceedings (preliminary injunctions) and in main proceedings, insofar as, for example, injunctive relief, damages or monetary compensation are claimed.
Expertise:
- Advice and legal representation in Media Law matters (authorisation requests/warning letters)
- Litigation in media law disputes (preliminary injunction proceedings, main action proceedings)
- Contract drafting/licensing/transfer of rights
- Media Law compliance for companies, agencies and public institutions
